Today’s Insight

📰 TL;DR - Reaching Gen Z on social media is a constant puzzle for many marketers… but new research from Insider Intelligence showcases how the youths are currently using social media and how marketers can make the most of it.

💡 Insight - Build a strong organic presence on Instagram and engage with customers. Instagram is currently dominating direct messages and private forms of communication. Nearly 73% of those who have sent DMs in the past month have done so through Instagram, according to the research.

Explore selling through live-stream and long-form videos on YouTube. Among U.S. Gen Z social media users who watched long-form videos in the past month, 76.8% used YouTube and 49.9% used TikTok. If you’re selling on this platform, you’re reaching a receptive audience.

Don’t discount the audience on Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts. While TikTok is still the undisputed fave (55% of Gen Zers who watch short-form videos say TikTok is their go-to platform), there’s still a great opportunity on these other platforms. Plus, short-form videos can be a solid teaser for the other long-form or non-video content you’re creating on those platforms.
