Today’s Insight

📰 TL;DR - Brands often lean into the themes of Valentine’s Day with romantic gifts and date night ideas… but what about targeting the audience that isn’t spending the day with a partner? Some brands are embracing the anti-Valentine’s Day message and making campaigns for the single and broken up.

💡 Insight - Get inspired by some of the anti-love campaigns brands are running this Valentine’s Day:

  • P.F. Chang’s is offering free orders of “breakup dumplings” to anyone willing to share a breakup text with them.

  • Pizza Hut is offering free “Goodbye Pies” which delivers a free Hot Honey pizza to an ex or soon-to-be ex alongside a breakup message.

  • Toilet paper company Who Gives A Crap is letting brokenhearted consumers send their leftover love letters in to transform into TP.

  • The Humane Society of the Lakes in Minnesota is asking for donations in the name of your ex. For $10, they’ll place your ex’s name in a litter box. For $50, they’ll name an animal after your ex, then spay or neuter it.

Just goes to show how you can take part in a holiday with just a little bit of creativity!
