Today’s Insight

📰 TL;DR - Hootsuite recently released their report of 2024 Social Media Trends, analyzing stats and usage patterns from this past year to predict what’s to come in the next year for social media.

Hootsuite divides the trends into four key areas: AI, platforms, ROI, and industries.

💡 Insight - Here are some of our favorite highlights from the report:

AI advances are forcing brands to redefine authenticity. Hootsuite reports a 318% increase in how much orgs plan to use AI for customer support activities in 2024, and a 260% increase in how they plan to use AI for editing images.

Orgs are fearing the ROI impact of being on so many platforms. The average social media user logs into seven platforms each month. 58% of marketers feel the pace at which networks release new features makes it hard to keep up.

Entertainment is key for social ROI. The top reason users say they use social media is to be entertained and mentally unwind. 34% said “too much self-promotion” is a major turn-off in how they perceive brands on social. Conversely, 48% of marketers publish product or brand updates multiple times a week.
