💡 Today’s Insight 💡
🗞 TL;DR - We love when AI can save us time and optimize our workflows… but there’s still a lot of tasks humans do better than AI – like certain writing. AI can provide valuable SEO knowledge, synthesize complex information, and provide precise pieces of writing based on your prompts. But humans can be culturally responsive, original, and personal in ways AI struggles to be.
💡 Insight - Ideally, AI should handle the baseline 80% of writing – synthesizing large amounts of data and research, creating content that adheres to a specific prompt, and keeping within specified brand guidelines. But humans should focus their creative energy on the 20% that no AI has: unique perspectives, surprising stories, moral nuance, cultural references, and truly novel ideas.
Here are some key indicators that scream “an AI made this” where humans can shine:
Sterile, overly formal language that no human would use
Predictable sentence patterns that create a hypnotic rhythm
Awkward transitions between ideas without natural connective tissue
Impersonal, robotic tones and voices
Stating facts that sound possible but don’t hold up to scrutiny
Writing devoid of personality, humor, or authentic perspectives
Surface-level treatment of predictable topics or super obvious ideas
Forgettable openings and conclusions that fail to engage your reader
AI often has a lot of weaknesses that novice human writers do, but humans can learn to overcome them through their authentic lived experiences.
