Today’s Insight

📰 TL;DR - Sprout Social published this guide on how to conduct a TikTok account audit, but it can honestly be repurposed across social channels. The key takeaways are the same and feature examples from Alex Lewis, the social media strategist behind Abercrombie & Fitch Co. brands Hollister and Gilly Hicks.

💡 Insight - Here’s the process Sprout and Lewis suggest to follow:

  1. Optimize your profile and branding - First glances are everything. Make sure your branding is consistent, CTAs are clear & relevant, pinned posts are useful, and playlists/lists are curated.

  2. Conduct a follower audit for engagement and authenticity - You can do this using native platform analytics or a third-party tool. Monitor how much your account is growing month-over-month, weed out fake followers, and identify emerging & established influencers in your follower lists for future partnerships.

  3. Evaluate your publishing strategy with a content audit - Start quantitative, then go qualitative. Look for performance trends based on post format, content topics, popular audios, or cadence.

  4. Analyze competitor strategies - Understand what other brands and relevant accounts in your space are doing. How many followers do they have? How often do they post?

  5. Synthesize your findings to share with your team - These findings can help marketing strategy across the board, not just on social. Collaborate with your team to figure out how to adjust your content or brand strategy.
