🎞️ Instagram Trial Reels are now available to more creators. The option essentially allows professional accounts to test whether their Reels will resonate with audiences before sharing them to all.
🧐 Google Performance Max campaigns are getting new brand asset rules. Until now, brand assets like logos and business names were stored in Asset Groups. Now, for campaigns with brand guidelines enabled, these assets are stored at the campaign level.
💡 Today’s Insight 💡
🗞 TL;DR - Experts have always debated how long it takes for SEO efforts to have an effect on search traffic – in large part to boast about how their SEO work can have major effects in relatively little time. But finally, Google’s own John Mueller and Martin Splitt have added to the conversation with some more definitive takeaways.
💡 Insight - According to Mueller, a site starting out from virtually zero optimization to some basic optimization “may see near immediate ranking changes in Google.”
We hate to hear it, but how fast your content ranks really does depend on multiple factors related to the scale of the work being done. If it’s something simple (like simple text changes on a page), it shouldn’t take Google much time to catch up. But more complicated or a larger amount of changes (like changing strategic hierarchy) can take significantly longer.
While it does depend on how big your website and changes are, something like homepage updates should take about a week or two to reflect in search.
Good news is, you can search for yourself to see if your changes are surfacing – which is a good best practice to be following anyways. Good SEO pros should always be tracking progress of projects and able to explain what’s happening over time.
