💰 X is going to start charging for ads based on visual size. Similar to not allowing hashtags on ads, the change relates to aesthetics and will charge more for ads that take up the whole screen rather than ¼ of the screen.

🗞 TL;DR - Social media scheduler Buffer is a great resource for original data on the state of social media, and they just compiled all of their original recent research into one massive report. We’ve taken out the key takeaways for you, but the full report is worth a read.
💡 Insight - What’s a good engagement rate on social media in 2025? It differs by platform! The average engagement rates by major platform are: 6.5% on LinkedIn, 5.07% on Facebook, 4.86% on TikTok, 4.51% on Threads, 2.31% on X, and 1.16% on Instagram.
Does posting consistently really make a difference? Yes, absolutely. Accounts who posted at least once a week for 20+ weeks saw 450% more engagement per post than those who posted fewer than five times across the same period. Aim for at least one post per week, every week.
Do AI-assisted posts perform better or worse? AI-assisted content saw ~22% more engagement than non-AI-assisted posts. AI helps brands create faster, post smarter, and publish more often.
Which text-first platform is strongest: X, Threads, or Bluesky? Well, the median post gets 4 engagements on all three platforms. When you dig deeper, X can be the most powerful if you strike viral gold (not something to bet on), Bluesky has value with niche interactions, and Threads is the steady middle ground (not extreme, but solid).
