💡 Today’s Insight 💡
🗞 TL;DR - You’re probably losing the battle for attention to creators. A recent study from YouTube and eMarketer found that creator content influenced 49.5% of U.S. social shoppers to purchase something via social media platforms in 2024. The value of creator-driven content transcends industry and audience, so no matter the focus, performance marketers should take note of these key lessons from creators.
💡 Insight - Use short-form as a performance strategy. Traditional A/B testing is too slow and narrow. Instead, lean into short-form algorithms by testing multiple hooks in the first three seconds, trialing different formats (i.e. voiceover vs direct-to-camera), and split-testing CTAs (aka pinned comments vs on-screen overlay).
Focus on authenticity over polished videos. Don’t get stuck in the high-end content production cycle. Users value human insight and entertainment to gain trust in a brand. Be brutally honest, feature regular people, and lean into what feels native to the platform.
Develop creator partnerships. If you can’t beat them, join them. The key is focusing on credible voices in your niche: subject matter experts, educators, and micro-creators who already have built trust with your target audience.
In B2B, lean on your employees – they’re your strongest advocates and most effective influencers. B2B employees typically have 12x more organic reach than brand pages. Have them share insights from their role, reactions to industry news, behind-the-scenes of their work, or personal takes on customer challenges.
