Good news for everyone in the northeast U.S. dreading looking at this month’s electricity bill… it seems like the heatwave should be breaking today. 🤞

🌟 Today’s Highlights:

  • Threads updated how it displays topic-based feeds in the app

  • WhatsApp added AI-powered message summaries

  • Replace Shopify Analytics with Heatmap’s new web analytics tool

  • 📊 Stat of the Day: Google AI Overviews no longer hold the top spot for U.S. desktop search results 12.4% of the time. (Source: seoClarity)

🚫 Stop Trusting Shopify Analytics

Shopify shows you “traffic,” but what they really mean is junk. Bounced sessions, failed page loads, bots… all counted towards your total traffic count.

No wonder your conversion rate doesn’t make sense! Heatmap's new web analytics tool finally gives e-commerce brands a source of truth:

Filtering out bot traffic and bounces

Accurate conversion and attribution data

All-in-one dashboard made for CRO

Plug-and-play setup, no devs needed

...all for a flat $29/mo!

⚡️ Today’s Headlines ⚡️

🧵 Threads is changing the way it displays topic-based feeds in the app. Users can now tap into a dedicated ‘Feeds’ menu at the top left of the main feed, rather than pulling down and swiping across.

💡 Today’s Insight 💡

🗞 TL;DR - Do you know what each social media platform actually counts as a ‘view’ when you’re looking at your performance reports? The answer might surprise you and make you realize, as Mondo Metrics’ chief Nick Cicero says, “views are cheap. Attention is expensive.”

💡 Insight - How ‘views’ are counted on social media often depends on the platform and the content type. Here’s a simple breakdown…

Platforms & content types that define ‘views’ as 1 second or more: Snapchat (all content), Instagram (all photo + carousel content, Stories, and Reels), X (all photo video, text), Facebook (all non-live video content & Reels), TikTok (all video content), YouTube (Shorts).

LinkedIn counts all views of video content over 2 seconds in their view count.

Whereas YouTube counts any video views of 30 seconds or more as a 'view.’

Knowing all of that can help you understand what you’re actually measuring (and probably reiterate how important it is to have a good hook).
