💡 Today’s Insight 💡
🗞 TL;DR - If you’re a CMO or involved in the team-building dynamics at your company, you should be taking AI seriously and identifying the players who are going to help you lead that charge. Figure out who you can trust, where you should start, and who will be the owner of AI on your team.
💡 Insight - How can you find the AI leader for your team? Search Engine Journal breaks it into a 90-day action plan to scout the best person for the job.
What you can do immediately (Week 1-2):
Write your AI plan and present it to your team. Have a formalized kickoff that starts with the basics, demystifies any uncertainty, and provides examples of what success looks like.
Assign a budget line for AI initiatives.
Create transparent communication lines to ease any department AI fears.
What you can do in the short-term (30-90 days):
List out all of the existing problems within your department and work through how to use AI alongside existing tools and processes to make them better.
Establish bi-weekly AI progress updates and weekly team training sessions.
Begin cross-functional AI coordination and start to rebuild roadmaps.
The Long-Term Plan (6-18 months):
Develop an AI-focused hiring strategy and plan a reorg with this in mind.
Build executive presence for AI champions.
Create measurable ROI frameworks.
Through the process, make note of who sticks out as an AI champion and consider including them in more decision-making processes to help propel your success with emerging technology.
