🗞 TL;DR - Did you know that if you run shorter video ads on Facebook that they’ll actually auto-play more times? It’s something Meta’s pushing brands to consider in its latest advice, and you should take note…
💡 Insight - It may not be a significant factor, but it’s something you should be considering. Meta explains that “in most cases, video ads on Facebook that are 30 seconds or less loop for approximately 90 seconds.” That means your video replays after it initially ends.
The shorter your ad, the more times it will loop if left unchecked.
For example, if you have a video ad that’s 30 seconds long, your 30-second video loops 3 times for a total of 90 seconds. If you have a video that’s 16 seconds long, your ad would loop 6 times for a total of 96 seconds (since 96 is closer to 90 than 5 loops at 80 seconds).
Of course, this all depends on the viewer allowing the video to replay vs swiping away. And also to note, it’s not applicable to IG where the ad will keep playing regardless of length. But in general, it’s worth noting that shorter ads could get a lot more plays and optimize your branding.
