⛓️‍💥 Tired of B2B/Lead Gen Agencies?

Most B2B agencies overpromise and underdeliver. They charge a % of ad spend (so they’re incentivized to make you spend more, not make more), lock you into 6–12 month contracts, nickel-and-dime every new ad or campaign, and take a week to respond when you need something.

They also bet everything on one channel 👎 One ad platform. One cold email sequence. One play. In reality, B2B buyers don’t convert from a single touch, you have to stay top of mind across multiple channels to actually get booked and get paid.

That’s why we built Max’s Team. One flat monthly fee. Unlimited lead gen across Meta & Linkedin ads, Google search (+RB2B), newsletters, LinkedIn content, and DM outreach, and more… all working together. Month-to-month contracts. No “out of scope” excuses. Just execution focused on qualified leads, like 100+ MQls generated in the first 6 weeks at $66 CPL in a notoriously tough ICP for our recent client.

🔔 Reddit is expanding its Reminder Ads beta. Reddit initially launched Reminder Ads for its “Ask Me Anything” sessions early last year, but is now expanding its beta test with a selection of ad partners.

💡 Today’s Insight 💡

🗞 TL;DR - A common SEO and AI visibility tactic lately has been publishing review-style ‘best of’ listicles that rank a company’s own product as the No. 1 ‘best’ in its category, often update with the current year to trigger recency signals. But new research shows that Google might be catching on.

💡 Insight - According to new research by Amsive, several SaaS brands saw 30-50% organic visibility drops within weeks of heavy use of self-ranked ‘best of’ pages. The losses were concentrated in blog, guide, and tutorial subfolders. In most cases, the publisher ranked itself first in the listicles targeting ‘best’ queries. Many of the articles were lightly refreshed with ‘2026’ in the title with little evidence of meaningful updates.

Self-promotional listicles have become a shortcut for influencing rankings and AI-generated answers. While ranking your own product as the ‘best’ without independent testing or third-party validation isn’t explicitly banned, it definitely conflicts with Google’s guidance on reviews and trust. If Google is now reevaluating how it treats this content, any strategies built around ‘best’ queries are in danger of imploding.

In the research, many affected sites also showed signs of rapid content scaling, automation, aggressive year-based refreshes, and other tactics tied to algorithmic risk. So, it’s probably not all due to self-promotional listicles. But the consistency of self-ranking “best” content among the hardest-hit sites suggests this signal could now carry more weight, especially when used at scale.
