🛠️ Things Worth Checking Out 🛠️

💼 LINKEDIN GROUPS - LinkedIn shared an overview of how it’s building public groups, a member community feature that’s exactly how it sounds. Here’s LinkedIn’s best practices to using its public groups.

📌 PINTEREST ADS - Pinterest launched a new global ad campaign to promote its evolving ad tools, including the benefits of Pin ads. It’s a fun campaign to watch.

💸 DEEP SALES - LinkedIn published a new guide to “deep sales,” otherwise known as salespeople who adopt advanced methods like AI and sales intelligence to maximize performance. Check out the highlights.

Today’s Insight

📰 TL;DR - Gartner is predicting organic traffic from search engines to websites will drop 25% by 2026 as a result of users seeking answers from generative AI tools like ChatGPT. The prediction is based on survey findings that found 79% of respondents expected to use AI-enhanced search within the next year.

💡 Insight - Don’t panic! Let’s slow down for a sec. Analyst firms often make major predictions that can, often, turn out to be wrong. Case in point: Gartner also made a prediction that 50% of consumers would limit engagement or abandon social media by 2025… seems a bit extreme.

To go a step further, data from analytics firm Similarweb shows that traffic to OpenAI has been declining in five of the past eight months and is currently down 11% from its May 2023 peak. ChatGPT’s mobile app even has fewer total users than Snapchat added last quarter alone.

It’s important to be cognizant of how AI will change organic search and SEO. Even though ChatGPT’s metrics are going down, it doesn’t necessarily signify an end to OpenAI. For now… maybe look at it as another area of opportunity, not a direct competitor.
