💡 Today’s Insight 💡
🗞 TL;DR - An underrated skill in social media marketing is landing the perfect writing. Understanding the nuances of each platform and adapting a brand’s tone and voice is a key to creating a social post that hits all the marks. If you’re struggling to land the right writing or you’ve just got a case of the classic writer’s block, we’ve got a few ideas to help you get to the next level of social writing.
💡 Insight - First, get to know what copy works on each platform your brand is on. Start to understand platform nuances – like how LinkedIn prioritizes educational, professional content while TikTok is more casual and fun.
Define the purpose of your post and why the reader should care. Too many times brands write post copy that sounds self-indulgent and hyperbolic. Get to the root of what you’re trying to relay and make sure it shows the reader why they should care. It also doesn’t hurt to simplify your writing and talk like a human.
Think about how the reader is visualizing your post. Make sure post copy enhances any imagery that’s used in the post. Get creative with line breaks and emojis to keep the reader moving through the post. But whatever you do, make sure the copy you’re writing is accessible to anyone reading with a screenreader or low-vision.
Lastly, if you’ve got writer’s block, lean on AI solutions to save time, start you off with a rough draft or outline, and get new ideas. You should always provide your own human touch to the posts, but starting with emerging tech tools is a benefit we should all be leaning on these days.
