🗞 TL;DR - LinkedIn has 150 million active SMBs on its platform today, counting as one of its fastest growing and most engaged audience. So, if you’re looking to target this cohort, you should absolutely be focusing on your platform strategy – and LinkedIn wants to show you how with their latest report.
💡 Insight - According to LinkedIn, 76% of global SMB decision makers say building partnerships these days requires greater networking and longer negotiations – though, interestingly, that’s weighted by 82% of SMB decision makers agreeing with the statement in Brazil.
Other concerns and business challenges for SMB decision makers include current macroeconomic factors (inflation, wages, demand, trade wars, etc.), post-COVID environment difficulties, lack of product innovation, and deglobalization/decoupling/friendsharing.
SMBs are looking to maximize efficiency by leaning into specific areas of business – for example, purchase intent for logistics increases 62% with budgets growing 5.3x – so, it’s vital for those targeting this audience to lean into the potential they can bring to these niche offerings.
Certain sources of information hold more value in influencing purchase decisions based on the product or service category. IT services, tech hardware, logistics, banking, manufacturing, and government all most rely on domain experts to make their purchasing decisions.
Lastly, 68% of SMB users think LinkedIn is the social network that helps them grow their business the most, with Instagram coming in second at 59%, Facebook in at 56%, and Pinterest in at 51%.

⏸️ Instagram finally added a ‘Pause’ button to Reels. The feature models TikTok, which allows users to pause a video by tapping the screen once – a feature that traditionally on IG turned the sound off on a video.

🛑 Reddit is letting users block their most-hated advertisers for a year. The change will debut on Reddit throughout “the next several weeks” and will allow users to re-hide the ad after the year runs out. It’s not entirely clear, but users may have a daily limit of how many ads they can hide.
