Today’s Insight

📰 TL;DR - We know a lot of you are looking for guidance on blog content, and this piece from The Blogsmith sheds light on why consistency is key when it comes to this type of long-form content. The guide discusses why consistency is important, how often you should post, and what best practices are for consistent publishing.

💡 Insight - Why do you need to publish blog posts consistently? A few reasons:

  1. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) relies on consistent content to rank your site. Your website ranking changes every day, but to increase traffic, you need to gain more keyword rankings than you lose. That’s where consistent content comes in.

  2. Search engines reward fresh content. Google checks whether a page features recent content when readers are looking for the latest info.

  3. Audiences look for authoritative websites. If you position yourself as an expert in your niche by posting regular, relevant content, you may break through the ranking positions.

How often should you blog? For most brands, 2-4 blogs per week is ideal. But this can change drastically depending on your industry focus. It’s important to analyze the following factors in deciding your frequency needs: target audience, upcoming marketing campaign needs, brand tone and voice, marketing resources, and content types.

Here are some additional best practices in blog publishing:

  • Create a realistic editorial calendar to visualize the needs & plan several months in advance

  • Repurpose content from videos, podcasts, eBooks, white papers, etc. to optimize your workflow

  • Outsource content writing to freelancers or marketing agencies (like our TNT team 👀) to help offload work from the team
