📰 TL;DR - Threads just celebrated its six-month birthday, which makes it a great time for brands to actually take this social network seriously. In those six months, Threads has launched a bunch of new features that make it a strong competitor against X and provide solid opportunities for brands to lean into organic content.

💡 Insight - If your brand isn’t active on Threads, now’s the time to start. Not sure where to begin? Try one of the features below.

  • Tags - Unlike hashtags, Threads tags are more like topics than a filtered search. You can only have one per post and while you can use the # symbol to list a tag, you won’t see it in the post.

  • Search - Threads initially launched without search, making it tough for brands to see their full impact. Easily search for your brand and relevant UGC using the app or desktop search.

  • Post Insights - You’ll see a list of everyone who has interacted with your post, including likes, reposts, and quotes. More detailed analytics are apparently on the horizon.

  • Editing - You can edit the text and any tags on your post for up to five minutes after you post, but you can’t add or remove media. When you click into a post, a timer will tell you how long you have left before you can no longer make changes.
