🗞 TL;DR - If you truly want to create a social media plan that’s strategic, you’ve gotta make sure you’re using each of its elements where they fit best. So, while it’s fair to just throw everything into IG’s favorite child Reels (which now accounts for more than half of all time spent in the app), you shouldn’t knock other formats for specific uses.
💡 Insight - Here’s how you should be using each format of content to get the most engagement on Instagram:
Want to reach new audiences? Use Reels and Carousel posts. Meta reports that 61% of IG users say that Reels ads have led them to further consider a brand, product, or service.
Want to engage your followers? Try Carousels, Single Photos, and Stories. It’s an especially interesting time to try Carousels with IG providing metrics tracking on which individual posts in each Carousel your followers are liking.
