🗞 TL;DR - ‘Tis the season…to start planning for the season. BFCM and the holidays are going to be here before we know it, and failing to prepare is preparing to fail. I imagine there will be a lot of holiday guides emerging in the coming weeks, so let’s start with Reddit. The social app released new holiday ad playbooks and campaign checklists to help brands better promote during the seasonal rush.
💡 Insight - Here’s the low-down on what they gave us, and what to look out for this year:
“Best Practices for Dynamic Product Ads” guide. A step-by-step rundown on how to optimize product promotions on Reddit (formats, targeting, creative, etc). Use this as a blueprint for your Reddit product ad campaigns. Don’t “wing it:” follow Reddit’s own pointers to reduce friction, improve match rates, and lower wasted spend.
General “Campaign Best Practices” checklist. Covers higher-level campaign planning, measurement, messaging, and alignment. Before launching any holiday campaign on Reddit, run it through this checklist to ensure creative, targeting, bidding, pacing, and measurement are solid.
Brand playbook + trend tools (Pro Trends). Reddit highlights trending communities and conversation topics to help brands align with what’s resonating. Use Pro Trends to discover which subreddits, topics, or signals are rising in your vertical. Let that guide your messaging, formats, and creative tests.
Rationale and signal shift. Reddit points out that its user base is actively seeking “real human insights” on products. Position your brand to be part of the conversation; not just as a seller, but as a trusted voice. Rival platforms are noisy; Reddit gives room for depth and community signals.
