But with such a booming holiday sales season, anything can come up and you’re better off staying agile and flexible rather than rigid with your plans. 💡 Insight - Here are Later’s top five tactics to stay flexible this holiday shopping season:

  1. Build your flexible foundation before the chaos starts. Create secondary layers of content for common scenarios: early sellouts, extended promotions, competitive responses, or trending moments. Hold onto all of this in an easily accessible place, so it’s easy to implement if you need to make a swap.

  2. Speed up approvals to avoid last-minute changes derailing your timeline. Most campaigns fall apart because the approval process can’t keep up. Make sure your approvers know the order of operations and understand the urgency behind any last minute requests.

  3. Let AI tools and smart features handle the timing while you handle the pivots. Scheduling, logistics, and advising are where AI shine… so let it! Lean into smart schedulers, content advisors, and copy generators to speed up your work and optimize your own time.

  4. Track what’s working so you can double down or pull back quickly. During high-stakes moments like shopping holidays, track metrics that tie directly to business incomes and don’t worry about the rest. The goal is to spot underperforming messaging early enough to do something about it and turn around your holiday performance.

  5. Know when to stay the course and when to pivot. Ask yourself and your team the following questions: Will an adjustment actually improve performance, or does it just feel urgent? Do you have enough time to execute a change well? Is a change aligned with your brand and your Black Friday goals? Does your team have the bandwidth to make it happen?
