🗞 TL;DR - SEO these days is, well, messy. With the emergence of AI Overview tools and search engines, it’s not as easy as it once was to come up with SEO best practices. And yet, you may still be wondering: okay, but what do I do with keywords? Should I focus on keywords with high monthly search volume? Or prioritize keywords with low or high competition? 💡 Insight - Here’s the quick answer: Don’t focus on the keyword, focus on the solution for the user based on the intent of the keyword.

Ask yourself what the person searching for this keyword is looking for, and build a series of pages that meet these needs. If it’s a conversion phrase, incorporate the questions and solutions users might have related to the product query directly into the product or collection page.

Your site should have multiple content types for the SEO keywords based on the stage of the customer’s journey including: result pages (what happens if they use your product/service), blog posts and guides that cover FAQs about your product or service, comparisons between your product and others, and a direct conversion page to onboard the lead.

Lastly, competition scores do not matter. Competition scores are made up by SEO tools, not used by search engines. Search engines just care about providing the most accurate answer in the easiest-to-absorb format in the fastest way possible. Create content around that and you may find that you get the ranking and traffic you were looking for.
